Today is Friendship Day, a day to celebrate and enjoy the spirit of the friendship. Orkut.com, India’s Popular social networking website, is greeting Friendship Day to all its users with a very special logo.

This is going to be Google’s another attempt to compete with Facebook.com, the leading social networking website.

Google Wave today listed some more useful gadgets for users to get feedback easily. These extensions are much more featured than the “Yes/No/Maybe” gadget.

Surprised to see a “Happy Basant” doodle on orkut.com? Basant is a Hindu festival, but the Pakistani Muslims also celebrate Basant in their own way.

Social networking site Orkut has rolled out an Android application for its users. This app enables users to get instant access to their scrapbook, photo album and other features.

Orkut is showing up a special logo (doodle) to celebrate the inauguration of IPL matches today. Google is also promoting its browser Chrome through the IPL channel on YouTube.

Google has not displayed any special logo on Valentine’s day this year, but has changed the alt-tag of its logo to wish you a happy V-day.

There are several ways to create your own social networking site like Orkut, Facebook or MySpace. I am listing few ways here.

Recently , Google India invited 3 orkuteers (Orkut Users) to visit Google campus . On June 6 ( don’t blame me for publishing this too late , as this news was published on 24th June @ Official Blog of Orkut ), three of Indian superusers from throughout India were there , where they told what they loved about orkut and shared suggestions for improvement .

I don’t know how they select these persons , but it is a great job ! ( see updates below )

You can check it by logging to your Orkut account .
