Google Chrome Frame Is Now Stable!


Google Chrome Frame, the Internet Explorer plug-in, is now a stable product. If you have been using Chrome Frame Beta, you can update to the latest stable version. Google has also released an MSI installer for the Chrome Frame. The Chrome Frame provides IE users additional features and better performance, as well as access to modern & open web technologies like HTML5 on legacy browsers. Many websites provide support for this plugin like Orkut, Google Docs, YouTube, DeviantART, Hootsuite, github etc.

To install Chrome Frame plug-in for Internet Explorer, visit this page. Chrome Frame is available only for Windows 7 / Vista / XP SP2 + Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8. You can also try the new beta or dev release of Chrome Frame.

 

 

Google says about this release, "Google Chrome Frame now starts three times faster on Windows Vista and Windows 7 and the most common conflicts with other plug-ins have been fixed. Gmail and Google Calendar are planning to adopt Google Chrome Frame in the near future to improve performance and ease the transition for users as they drop support for legacy browsers.".
