Chrome Web Store – Web Apps Store Appears In Google Chrome

A new Dev channel update is now available to Google Chrome users. This Dev Channel Update, version 6.0.472.0, has added a new feature to Chrome: An icon and link to the Chrome Web Store. This icon appears only if the user has enabled the applications by adding command flag to Chrome, and the link takes you to the Chrome extension gallery.

The web store was announced during Google I/O developer conference in May this year, and it will feature browser-based Web apps. To enable web apps, you need to use –enable-apps flag to Chrome shortcut. See more details about it on GOS blog. There are three applications already available with Google Dev Channel. Several Independent developers have also published their apps. We expect that the  Chrome Web Store will be launched very soon now.
