That has been happening since my first nokia. The bar is not important but call drops are a major issue. Even if the signal is down to half bar, if my call is still connected then I am ok with that. So far nokia, sony and blackberry hasn’t given me such problems. Only in very bad coverage area then I face call drops. Usually in rural areas.

Wow… Just tried the death grip on my Blackberry 8530…. uh….. signal is…… the same as before….. good signal.
Seriously Apple is being ridiculous about this.

Just tried it on a Nokia E63, E71, N97 and basically could not get the signal to change. Performed the death grip on my Iphone 4 and guess what, the signal dropped dramatically, to one bar. I guess apple can´t just accept that their phone is a brick! I for one are looking at getting my money back since a phone after all is for communicating but with a signal so bad it is basically worthless, what a rip off!

Really now. This is nuts. Apple creates and invents all this cutting edge products and one mess like this marks them for life. I wait for BB OS6, faster Ajax score than Apple.
