Google Docs Viewer is an excellent tool to view PDF files online, without installing potentially vulnerable applications like Adobe Reader. I’m a big fan of this service by Google! The only annoying thing about reading PDF files with this webapp is its header, which carries a Google Docs logo and information about the currently opened file. This header takes significantly large screen area, specially when you are using a netbook.
Thankfully, there is a trick to remove this header – and read PDF files in full screen mode. This trick works only with Firefox, which allows users to see frame content separately. Actually, Google Docs renders individual pages of a PDF file as image in a separate frame. To remove the header, simply right click anywhere on the frame area and select the option “This Frame > Show Only This Frame” in the context menu.
