Remember the Mozilla Weave? OK. Mozilla Weave is a Firefox add-on, which allows you to synchronize browser-related personal information (bookmarks, history, saved passwords, open tabs etc.) to a server and all your devices. I am not a big fan of Weave – and prefer other options like Xmarks etc. The good news about this Mozilla Labs project: Mozilla Weave is going to be rebranded as Firefox Sync.
Firefox developer dknite has listed the upcoming changes in the next update of Mozilla Weave. Here are some important changes:
Rebranded as Firefox Sync New facelift to the weave client UI Improved response time with sync Bookmark backup before initial sync New production server clusters built to handle larger loads Support on Fennec devices
Improvement in the response time for synchronization of Firefox browser information will be the biggest feature of the next release. I’m planning to switch back to Weave – and if you have same plans, install the current version of Weave from AMO.
