The leading social networking website, Facebook.com, has been blocked in Pakistan by the authorities after an order by a Pakistani court. This ban is temporary though. Facebook is blamed for encouraging users to publish caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed, which was condemned by the Muslims all over the world.
According to the reports, “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day!” – a group on Facebook, was involved in such anti-Islamic activities. After reporting this issue to the moderators, few Islamic leaders formally filed a case against the site in the Lahore High Court of Pakistan and demanded ban on the site. The Pakistani authorities have blacked Facebook until May 31.
Thankfully, there are several tricks to open and use blocked websites – and the governments can’t actually block any site. But, this is a quite difficult situation for the social networking addicts in Pakistan.

well this is very good decision taken by the high court authority of pakistan in punjab.i am very very happy for this.and i proud to be a pakistani and i request to take the harsh actions against such activites from the high court of pakistan and every muslim thanks to ALLAH.
I think its a really good and sensable decion of the court to block such websites having such abusing material. I`m really happy by the courts and higher authorities harsh reaction towards this stupid action.
In my opion a case must be filed at UN level to protect the rights of all muslims and take serious actions at government level to teach them a true lesson. Oh God Please forgive Us and Give us strenght to fight back these devils in better way.Ameen.

I think High court have taken very brave decision to block facebook. I think people doing anti islamic activities should be taught so that no one ever try to think of doing this…..

I think blocking the facebook was the right desicion because nothing is SO imporatant for us than our PROPHET and ISLAM.when facebook is a social networking site it means that many hindus thousands of christians and millions of jews ARE USING IT then WHY??? this page pointed only MUSLIMS!!!…. this only means that they wanted to HURT us!!!!
