Gmail Users Need To Verify Email Address Before Auto Forwarding All Mails

Gmail has a very useful feature: users can opt for auto-forwarding all emails to another email address. Users can set this option from Settings> Forwarding and POP/IMAP.  In past, users were allowed to enter any email address to forward their all emails to that address – but now Google has made it compulsory to verify the target email address first.

Now, when a user tries to automatically forward his/her all emails to another address – Gmail asks him/her to verify that address first. A verification email is sent to the target email id with a confirmation link. After the successful confirmation, that email address appears in a drop down menu adjacent to the forward option. This new feature ensures that the users forward their mails only to the allowed email address.

One Response to Gmail Users Need To Verify Email Address Before Auto Forwarding All Mails

It is a great idea but as usual, Google found a way to foul this up.

They forgot that this feature is only a huge inconvenience for their corporate customers (those who pay to use GMAIL).

It is incredibly rude that Google would roll this out without allowing corporate customers to shut this off or, at the very least, automatically verify all email addresses within the corporate domain.

We already have one client who cannot forward his mail before he leaves for vacation because his manager is already on vacation and cannot verify the code that GMAIL sends to the recipient.
