mzl.la – Mozilla’s Short URLs

I have just noticed an interesting thing, which will certainly excite all Mozilla and Firefox fans. @Firefox, the official and verified twitter account of Mozilla Firefox on twitter, is using a new URL shortening service: mzl.la!

mzl.la

mzl.la does not seem to be open for public use, as the domain name redirects to the homepage of Mozilla Foundation. Well, this is not new – @Firefox has been using mzl.la for a long time.

I wish to use this domain name for sharing links related to the Mozilla, Firefox and Open Source. :)

  1. mzl.la says:

A not existing mzl.la address like mzl.la/firefox redirects to a bit.ly error page.

  2. Mozilla may be using Bitly Pro service.

here is an update for you. Mzl.la uses bitly pro service and you can create a short url on this domain name by signup here: http://www.mzl.la/a/sign_up

  4. @Karthik : Thanks for your comment, but it is not working.
