See YouTube Videos In HTML5

YouTube recently announced much awaited feature: support for HTML5. HTML5 is the latest technology, which does not require flash for videos. This simply means that you can watch YouTube videos without installing flashplayer plugin.

How to see YouTube videos in HTML5?

YouTube has not enabled this feature for users yet. Although, you can opt-in for HTML5 as default format. To opt for HTML5:

  • Use Google Chrome or Safari (or MS Internet Explorer with Chrome Frame installed).
  • Visit this page, and click the “Join the HTML5 Beta” link.
  • Now, you can see videos in HTML5 format.

HTML5 will not work with videos with ads and in fullscreen mode.
