MonkeyFly – Get Best Features Of TweetDeck On Twitter.com Web Interface
If you use twitter, I’m quite sure that you must have tried tweetdeck or any similar “multi-column” twitter client. Many users like such tools, because users can filter their timeline by creating columns of interesting twitter users or can follow a particular “keyword” on twitter easily. These twapps increase your “view” area and you become more productive on twitter. ![]()
I hardly use any third-party twitter client and twitter’s web interface is enough for me. There are several great greasemonkey scripts for twitter which can bring almost all advanced functions to web interface. I really love Troy’s script – but now I have discovered another Magical script – MonkeyFly, which brings all best features of tweetdeck to twitter.com’s web interface.
Here are some great features of MonkeyFly:
- Works with Google Chrome. MonkeyFly has a Chrome extension too.
- Multi-column view:

You can create panels likes tweetdeck to follow any list or keyword. This feature is really awesome!
- Easy Image upload: You can upload any image to twitpic directly from the homepage.

- Profile information: On hovering mouse over someone’s profile image, a popup will appear showing that person’s latest tweets and profile information.
- One-click URL shortener.
- Auto suggest: As you type @ symbol, MonkeyFly starts suggesting usernames. So, you don’t need to remember IDs of your friends.
- Keyboard shortcuts: MonkeyFly adds keyboard shortcuts to the interface. You can see these shortcuts from the drop down list on the sidebar.
- Link tracking: This is another super feature. MonkeyFly keeps track of all the links you have submitted using the URL Shortener button. This shows bit.ly stats of those URLs.

Users can customize their settings from the top navigation bar. I thanks @egoing for developing this gem.
Install MonkeyFly:
- Greasemonkey script (You need greasemonkey add-on)
- Firefox add-on
- Chrome extension
Cheers!
