Bit.ly, the most popular URL shortening service, has launched another project: Bitly.tv – which will aggregate most popular videos shared through the Bit.ly.
Bitly.tv will collect data from its URL shortening services bit.ly and j.mp. This service will try to list the most popular videos shared using bitly services on twitter (which uses bitly as default URL shortening service) and other social networking sites across the internet.
The ranking of videos is based on a unique algorithm: bitrank algorithm, which focus on velocity, popularity and persistence.
Bitly.tv will a better substitute of the currently available similar services because of its bitrank algorithm and sharing data analysis. Hence, Bitly.tv will aggregate most popular videos on twitter! Though, it will not look for the data of other URL shortening services.
