Google Wave Notifier – Desktop Application For Google Wave
I really love Let Wave Talk robot, which sends alerts for updates in Wave via Google Talk – but there are few limitations with this robot: It supports only Gmail accounts (i.e.; if you are using Wave with a non-Gmail email address, you can’t use this robot). Moreover, to get alerts – you need to add this robot as a participant of the wave.
Hence, I was looking for any application to notify me about unread items in my Wave inbox and finally, I got the solution: Google Wave Notifier. It is a desktop application for Google Wave, which sits on Windows system tray and lights up the tray icon (along with showing a popup balloon) when new messages arrive.
Download and execute Google Wave Notifier (GWN), provide your Wave credentials and it will start checking your inbox automatically after every 15 minutes. In the current version of GWN, you can’t set a custom time interval but its developer, Danny Tuppeny, is working on this feature. Although, you can click on “Check Waves Now” anytime and force GWN to check updates. Moreover, you can change this “15 minutes” frequency by editing the GoogleWaveNotifier.exe.config file. (It will be in the same folder where you have extracted the downloaded zip file. To edit it – open it with WordPad or any similar text editor.)
GWN is not a fully featured desktop application for Wave like Waver (which is just an Adobe AIR implementation of iPhone interface of Wave. Actually, Wave does not need a desktop client like Waver, it is opposite to the concept of Wave!). GWN is the perfect tool at desktop for Wave – get alerts of new items and move to browser for replying.
GWN is still under development with few basic features at the moment. I expect more features in next releases. You can join this public wave for more updates and related issues.

Danny Tuppeny Said,
Just an update – the latest version does allow you to change the timer (along with other things, such as a sound notification)
It also includes Swedish, Spanish and Russian languages.
A Polish translation is also ready for the next release (and hopefully some others on the way!).
