You may know that the popular operating system Ubutnu releases its new versions with a special code name. It uses an adjective with an animal’s (as mascot) name having same first letter (like: Karmic Koala) to refer its releases. Karmic Koala is the code name of current release of Ubuntu (v9.10).
In past, Ubuntu had Warty Warthog (v4.10), Hoary Hedgehog (v5.04), Breezy Badger (v5.10), Dapper Drake (v6.06), Edgy Eft (v6.10), Feisty Fawn (v7.04), Gutsy Gibbon (v7.10), Hardy Heron (v8.04), Intrepid Ibex (v8.10) and Jaunty Jackalope (v9.04). The version number represents year and month of release. (e.g. : 9.10 = October 2009)
Here is a cool wallpaper for your computer, which features all Ubuntu mascots. You will love this special wallpaper!
