Get A Clean Sidebar At Twitter Homepage

I don’t use any twapp like TweetDeck, TwitterFox (Echofon) or Seesmic. Just like many other tweeps, I love using twitter from its homepage. With recently introduced list feature, it is really easy to manage tweeps and getting more information from twitter. There are several ways to customize twitter web interface by using greasemonkey scripts. And, here is another useful greasemonkey script to optimize web client.

The userscript Clean Sidebar removes unwanted elements from the sidebar, and only Search box, Saved Searches and Lists remain there. It hides your profile data, advertisement, navigation links, Trending Topics, Your “Following” list and RSS feed link from the sidebar.

Clean Sidebar On Twitter Homepage

To use this script you need Firefox + Greasemonkey add-on. Although, other browsers (Chrome, Opera etc.) also support few userscripts but I’ve not tried it on them.

This tool removes unwanted stuffs and hence you can focus on your saved search and lists. :)

Feedback welcome!

Update: Kévin Rocher has created an awesome online tool to remove selected elements from the twitter homepage. This tool generates userscript dynamically. Must try it here: http://filou.darklg.fr/
