Rebrand Firefox And Thunderbird

by Arpit Kumar on 29 October 2009

Firefox is an Open Source browser – which means that you can customize its code and can compile your own browser. But that is a tough task for most of us. Thankfully, we have an easier way to rebrand Firefox, which allows you to change the brand names and images used by Firefox and Thunderbird.

Rebrand is a Firefox add-on having a plain simple wizard to create your own personalized browser. You can change brand names used in Firefox : such as “Firefox”, “Mozilla”, the browser logos, icons and other symbols.

Create your own browser!

You don’t need to play with codes – just enter your browser’s name, logo and other details and Rebrand will create a XPI file (Firefox add-on). Now, you need to install this XPI file and Firefox will be rebranded. :) Fun!!

It is not the ultimate way to rebrand Firefox though, you can impress your friends and colleagues or can distribute the XPI file within your organization. Rebrand will not create any installation file. Moreover, your Firefox settings and add-ons will not be affected by it – everything would work smoothly.

To try this install Rebrand, restart Firefox and visit Tools > Rebranding Wizard.
