We have some nice tools to type or search in Hindi and here is another fantastic tool – Shabdkosh.

Shabdkosh is an online English-to-Hindi and Hindi-to-English dictionary.  It is as simple to use as using Google. Visit the site and start looking for meanings of Hindi or English words in the other language.

Its search box has the live translation feature, which automatically converts Roman script to Devnagari as you type words.

Click or Press CTRL+G to change transliteration language

You can search for both, English and Hindi words. Shabdkosh provides all relevant meanings of those words in order of relevance – just like other dictionaries.

Shabdkosh has some more features like Forum, Word of the day, Quote of the day, resources to learn Hindi. Users can also contribute to the site and make it more useful for others.

As it is a web based tool – you don’t need to download or install anything.
