Developers of Xmarks – the popular Firefox (& Chrome too!) add-on for bookmark sync, has launched another useful add-on. The add-on SearchTabs improves the Google result page by adding tabs containing the top web sites related to your search and grouped by topic.
To use this feature, install the experimental add-on and start searching with Google. When there will be a match for related query, SearchTabs would appear and displays one or more tabs on the result page. You can click any tab to discover the top sites for that topic.

Each site within a SearchTab has a thumbnail. Moreover, SearchTabs also lists the rank of website in tabs.

The SearchTabs uses Xmarks’s Site Info tool to generate suggestions and rank websites, as the add-on description page says :
The results shown by SearchTabs come from the careful analysis of a billion bookmarks on Xmarks.com.
The add-on is helpful for discovering new websites right in the Google search result page. It does not require any registration and has a privacy policy.
