5 Must Have Bookmarklets

Bookmarklets are easier to use and I prefer them over browser add-ons.  Here are five suggested bookmarklets  you should have.

• Save As PDF :

This bookmarklet saves the current webpage as PDF. Useful for offline reading, saving the document for future references etc.

• PrintFriendly :

outputs a printer friendly page. Read review of PrintFriendly.

• Purifyr :

outputs a cleaner webpage. Removes ads, headers and other worthless content. Best for reading and optimizing the page for mobile devices or printing.

• Bit.ly Sidebar

Bit.ly has a very powerful bookmarklet, which launches a side window for users.

This sidebar window has many great features to use bit.ly effeciently.

The Sidebar Bookmarklet slides out to shorten your long link, then shows Traffic, Conversations, and History. You can also share your bit.ly link on Twitter, Gmail, Email, and Facebook.

Another useful URL shortening service is U.nu which also offers a bookmarklet.

• Mail Via Gmail

This another very useful bookmarklet. On click it launches a window to email the current URL via Gmail.

Moreover, if you select any text before hitting the bookmarklet button, that text will sent as the body of the mail.
