- from: Used to search mails from a particular sender, example – from:manish
- to: Used to search mails from a particular recipient only, example – to:amit
- subject: Search for words in the subject line, example – subject:Adsense
- OR Search for messages matching term A OR term B, example- to:ravi OR from:manish
- after: before: Search for messages sent during a certain period of time. example- after:2009/03/11 before:200/03/14

- - (hyphen) : Used to exclude messages from your search, example- airtel -bill. This will result all mails having the word “airtel” and not having “bill“.

- in: and is: in: is used for looking into inbox, trash and spam, while is: is used for starred, unread & read. Example- in:inbox, is:read.
