Must Backup Your Emails – Learn From Mala’s Experience

As Gmail launched its support for Gears, I stopped using Thunderbird. But recently I read the experience of Mala Bhargava – who faced an unusual problem with Gmail log-in and now I have decided to always backup my Gmail account. As like everyone else, I too use Gmail for saving some critical personal details.

One day Mala Bhargva found that “I can’t log in to my gmail account!” and the situation became worst for her as nothing worked for her. She tried everything possible ……… and surprisingly nothing worked.

Mala was lucky and fortunately Google support team helped her. She writes it as

This wasn’t tied to my computer, so cache etc would not have worked. Actually cache, temp folder, answering the Google Support questions: that’s the first thing I did. This was some absolutely unique problem. Finally, after 3 days, the Google guys fixed it! I was able to get to them through contacts at Google India. Phew! They’re not telling me what the problem was.

Well, I’m never leaving my mail unbacked up again! This was not funny!

An important lesson for all those guys who faith Gmail blindly.

Beside Thunderbird, also try Gmail Backup – a freeware specially for Gmail. I have decided to set a filter to forward all important mails to a separate e-mail account.
