Vote for the Indian of the Year 2008

CNN IBN is asking every Indian to vote for the Indian of the Year 2008.

It is an attempt to praise those Indians who have served the country with their efforts. This year there are six categories : Politics, Sports, Business, Entertainment, Public Service and Global Indian.

The nominees of Politics category are : Nitish Kumar (CM Bihar), Sheela Dixit (CM Delhi), Omar Abdullah (CM JK), Raman Singh (CM CG), Shivaraj Singh (CM MP) and Pranab Mukherjee. I can’t understand why Narendra Modi is not in the list. Modi has developed Gujarat as the Business State of India.

The nominees in Sports Category are : Abhinav Bindra, Jeev Milkha Singh, Saina Nehwa, Sushil Kumar & Vijender Singh, Vishwanathan Anand and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

The voting for all category will be open till Jan 22 2009, midnight.
