Till now, I was using the bulky Oxford Compass dictionary on my Window PC. But, I have got a lighter alternative of it – WordWeb.
I have tried many other dictionaries, but found this freeware tool super cool. WordWeb is a one-click English thesaurus and dictionary for Windows that can look up words in almost any program. It works offline, but can also look up words in web references such as the Wikipedia encyclopedia. Features of the free version include:
- Definitions and synonyms
- Proper nouns
- Related words
- Pronunciations ( Using Windows Speech – So, No extra audio files like Oxford’s )
- 150 000 root words
- 120 000 synonym sets
- Look up words in almost any program

@arpit this offline web dictionary is very useful we can even add it to MS word as well ,I am using it from some time from now.

wordweb is really awesome..ive tried many dictionaries but dis one is the best!
