India ranks Fourth in World with 81 Million Internet Users

India has been ranked Fourth among the Top Ten nations in the world with 81 Million Internet Users. According to a report by “Internet Governance Forum” – Asia has the highest number of Internet users with an estimated 568.7 Million people followed by the Americas with 377.9 Million.


India, however, does not find place among the top ten nations in terms of broadband connections, where too the US stands first with 73.2 million connections.

The Nations in the top 10 list are:

  1. United States  220M
  2. China 210M
  3. Japan 88M
  4. India 81M
  5. Brazil  53.1M
  6. UK 40.2M
  7. Germany 39.1M
  8. Republic of Korea 35.5M
  9. Italy 32M
  10. France 31.5M
