    Works like a charm.
Now I can save a lot of bandwith.

    Thank you very much!

Thank you for putting this up. I found a couple of issues when trying it but it is mainly around getting the right versions. Once loaded it definately makes a difference – I would say between 50% and 80% bandwidth saving in the tests I did. I have included this link in a Top 10 Tips for Low Bandwidth Internet Management article at http://mainstreamingict.org/?p=104

“MIDlet requests that the device handle the following URL”

  21. Kaycee says:

Does opera mini need anyother internet connection to work on the pc?

  22. Abu Md. Raihan says:

@william; overlook the third step. Then u will have a mobile like thing on the screen. Use the ok button there.@Darkol; probably there is none as it shows u r using mobile but really not.@Kaycee; No, it’s not needed.@Rahul;u can try configuring the opera mini settings as http connection from socket.@chris; follow the information given for Rahul. Mine worked.@Taiye toyin; probably u haven’t downloaded java runtime environment, search it from google and then follow the steps in this post.

  23. Abu Md. Raihan says:

@william; sorry. It would be fourth step

some body know how to download file using opera mini on pc???
For example I want to download a mp3 file..

  28. Arpit Kumar says:

@coconut: You can download mp3 and all other file formats with Opera Mini on pc similarly to other browsers. Opera Mini has a fully featured download manager, where you can see and manage (pause/resume/stop) active downloads. I would recommend you to try Opera Mobile Emulator for PC, see this link for more information:

  29. coconut says:

    @Arpit Kumar
Actually I cannot download the file..when I try, this is a message..MIDlet requests that the device handle the following URL: http://……………………
Why? It is any setup for microemulator? For your information..I use microemulator 2.04 & opera mini 5..
For right now, I just can surf the internet..but cannot download or upload file using opera mini on pc..

Thanks for your suggestion about using opera mobile..but opera mobile is not the jad & jar file like opera mini..It’s that true? so if we use opera mobile on pc, we cannot access the free internet similar in using opera 10.61..
In my country, if we using opera mini (jad & jar file) in both device that mean handphone & pc..we can access the free internet access using one of internet service provider.

  30. Shirazi says:

Thank you very much.now I can go and surf easily, more than before with the aweful internet connection that we have !!thank you for all efforts that made …

Thanks for the useful post but i am facing some problem with it…
1.Though i have 2gb ram the microemulator is taking very long time just to initialize the opera mini,it takes around 15 minutes and then also the progress of initialization is only around 20%.
2.How can i run opera mini directly from microemulator ,because every time i close and then open the micriemulator it dont shows the previously installed Opera Mini on it and i need to do a fresh installation.
