Remove rel="nofollow" from Blogger Blog
Do you know that the use of NoFollow in comments and backlinks on Blogger ( & WordPress ) blogs is on by default ?
The rel=”nofollow” attribute is an HTML attribute used to tell some search engines ( including Google ) that a link should not influence the linked target’s ranking . So , if someone links like : a href = “http://www.example.com/” rel=”nofollow” , search engines willn’t credit the linked page for ranking .
Bloggers need this attribute in the comment section . Because , many visitors try to raise their own websites’ search engine rankings by submitting linked blog comments .
But , NoFollow can’t be solution to this problem . I have removed the option of NoFollow from this blog . And , here is how you can remove this option from your Blogger blog :
- Go To “Edit HTML” section . ( Dashboard > Layout )
- Check the “Expand Widget Templates” option .
- Now look for rel=”nofollow” . You can use Find option of your browser from View menu .
- You will find two results : One for Comment’s URL and another for Backlinks .
- Delete the rel=’nofollow’ . Save the Template . You are done !
Ensure that you moderate all the comments , to prevent comment spam .
It is all about loving your readers !
If you want to spread your Google juice, why use a link-condom?
